This is why I do this...

My entire body aches...I've spent the day violently vomiting. My head is so congested that I wouldn't mind putting a hole in it to relieve some of the pressure. Why oh why do I get a stomach flu on top of my head cold/sore throat? Body, are you there? I know you don't like this feeling either. What are you thinking?

Okay, enough of my whining...I really wanted to post about something that happened on Saturday night, sorry this is the first time I've felt like moving.

I was babysitting a four year old little boy, K. He's seriously one of the cutest things ever! He also has an awesome vocabulary and at times it's like talking to a little man.

So, there we are, coloring and I point out a cartoon character making a silly face.

Me- "Gosh, K. He's silly looking."

K- "No, D. He's just different looking."

To which I give him the biggest hug and tell him that he's exactly right, the cartoon is just different. Then he tells me that he's trying to color and my arms are in his way.

I mean, seriously, how freaking adorable is that? I was so amazed that he corrected me on this, especially the Special Ed teacher in me. I just had to share this with my blog friends.

Oh, and by the way, Gina, he's in Speech and will be at GT next year. Hopefully, you get to hang out with him too!

  1. I seriously can't believe you have the stomach flu on top of the chest congestion. That is just awful. Yuck. It must be the germs from the new kids. EW. I don't do much speech, just language...but depending on where I am placed next year, I might just have to fight for a speech group! He sounds adorable!

  2. I'm so sorry you're sick! It's really going around, isn't it??

Such a cute story, though. I am constantly amazed by my three-year-old nephew who comes up with the most amazing words and expressions. I don't know where he comes up with half of it, and he's just so darned cute!

  3. Hey D! I know someone at school who has Hands are not for Hitting! I am going to ask her if I can borrow it tomorrow. Great idea. I seriously thought about writing him a social story. I still might. Now I have to get Hands are for Hitting and Once Upon a Potty from Borders. I never thought I'd say that! :)
