Your momma!

So I'm in my second week of student teaching in third grade. Well, we recently had a district math assessment and like 20 kids got 100% or better (bonus points for your answer in a complete sentence) so half of them got to eat lunch with us in the classroom today (other half gets to tomorrow). So we're sitting there when out of the blue, one of the boys says that he heard a joke, so of course we want to hear. This is how it goes...

Kids check their closets for the boogeyman, but the boogeyman checks his closet for Chuck Norris.

I know, right? Hilarious! I swear, it's a good thing I wasn't drinking from my lil milk carton because that would have been everywhere! I don't know about you but I LOVE Chuck Norris jokes! And they're even better when coming from a 9 year old :)

After we've all recovered from that hysteria, it's about time to be finished. So kids are leaving, some sooner than others because they want to make it to recess, so that same kid walks out as another girl is telling a Your Momma joke. I think hers was "Your Momma's so fat she stood on a scale and it said your phone number." Well the Chuck Norris kid literally runs back into the room and says...

"Your momma's so fat, she sat on Wal-Mart and lowered the prices!"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Gosh, that kid's awesome! But what makes all of it even better is that these kids are so white. So these are not YO MAMA jokes, they are actually YOUR MOMMA, with each syllable perfectly spoken. I love it!

Ahhh, the life of a third grader...

PS. When my cooperating teacher called to remember the jokes to tell her son who's in 8th grade, she was trying to remember the Wal-Mart one. Here's her version...

"Your momma's so fat, she sat on Wal-Mart and everything was half price."

After my uncontrollable laughter, I did correct her so she could get it right for her son.

  5. hahaha. That's hilarious! You're with 3rd graders? That's what I had. If you're in a bind for a lesson plan idea, give a shout. Good luck! You know teaching has become your life when you accidentally say the Pledge of Allegiance at dinner instead of grace- true story! haha. Seriously, though, if you need anything, drop a line.
