Personal Passions or Things that start with P

Well, good news, it's not stomach flu + sore throat/head cold. It's strep. Apparently, my tonsils were so swollen, they were setting off my gag reflex and making me throw up. Who knew? I went to the doctor today and as I opened my mouth to say ahhh, my doctor literally said, "Woah, your tonsils are huge!" Thanks, doc, I figured as much since I was unable to swallow! (insert dirty joke here. oh yeah, I went there) So he put me on a heavy dose of amoxicillin, doc said it was the most that he could give me. Thank goodness!

Have you heard of the thing that's going around where someone gives you a letter and you have to think of 10 things you love starting with that letter? Okay, so Gina tagged me like forever ago to do this and I'm just now getting around to it, which leads me to number 1...

1. Procrastination
Yeah, I'm a huge procrastinator. This list has taken me forever to actually do. I think I work best under pressure though, which is why I take forever to do things.

2. Post Secret
Seriously, if you haven't visited postsecret.com, you're missing out. It started out as a college project and has grown into a craze. People write their secrets on postcards and mail them in to Frank. New secrets are uploaded every Sunday (which you'll find just isn't soon enough) and there are also like 4 books out.

3. Picoult
Jodi Picoult is such an amazing author. I found her about 3 years ago when I read her hugely popular My Sister's Keeper and have been obsessed ever since. She is an incredible writer and I love that you don't see what's coming. I consider myself a pretty good predictor of things to come and can often tell you what's going to happen in books and movies, so it's nice that there are many twists in her books and I often am blindsided at the end. I recommend her to everyone!

4. People
I love people! I love to hear about your life stories, your day, or something else that you'd like to tell me. I could sit and listen to a stranger for hours. Everyone has a story, they just need to tell it to someone.

5. Pediatricians
Up until about middle school, I was going to be a pediatrician. I'm not sure what changed my mind (probably my loathing of science) but I'm glad that I am still working with children in a different setting.

6. Punctuation
I'm what some may call a grammar freak. I hate bad grammar, especially by someone who is supposed to be an authority figure (like a teacher). I'm sorry, but if you are sending things home to parents or correcting someone's essay, please proofread and spell correctly!

7. PC
Yes, I know that there is a huge Apple/Mac craze, but I love my PC (well, laptop, really). I don't know Mac's just confuse me and my Windows seems to flow so much better!

8. Pajamas
I could wear my pajamas all day, everyday. I don't see what the big deal is about getting dressed up, or even putting jeans on for class.

9. PassiveAggressiveNotes.com
This site is so hilarious! And reminds me of something I would do. People send in passive aggressive notes that they've seen around the world. I'm the first one to write a note, rather than just talk to you if I have a problem with something you are doing.

10. Pop (both music and soda)
I love all kinds of music but I really love the pop music that most people complain about. Some of my favorites are the Jonas Brothers (yes you read that correctly) and Taylor Swift, I know she's considered country too, but I love her all the same!
And for those of you that call soda, pop, I love me some carbonation! I know it's not good for me, but really who can say no to Dr. Pepper, my absolute favorite!

PS...(oh yeah, slipped that right in) Paris
I took 3 years of French in high school and another two years in college. I was thisclose to making it my minor. I've almost been to France twice but things came up and I ended up having to back out. But I will make it there someday!

Let me know if any of you want to be tagged! I'll think of a letter for each of you!

I LOVE passiveaggressivenotes.com! I have been reading that site for a while and it cracks me up! I have secretly thought about writing a note on the empty roll of toilet paper many times!

  2. Paris, eh? It is a great place. I actually have a friend living there (she is from the coast of France- but I met her in undergrad when she was studying abroad). I went to see her last winter- it was so nice. France is pretty neat, I hope you get there someday!
