"I'm 80% happy and maybe just 20% jealous." -Rachel Green

Yes, I'm quoting Friends in my title. I pretty much think it's the greatest show ever and could watch it over and over (something I do quite often) even though I've seen all of the episodes multiple times and can quote all of them, which I find myself doing in day to day activities.

Okay, so I'm going to tell you about something that happened today to 2 of my teacher friends. Their names are T and M and they have been dating for about a year, but have known each other for more like 2. They are both 4th grade teachers at the same school, but they actually started dating when T was teaching 2nd grade. They hid it for awhile, just unsure of what the response would be from administration, but now everyone knows. And just so you know, T is the guy and M is the girl.

Today all of fourth grade was called into the gym for an assembly. I no longer work at this school, so I'm not really sure what they were told the assembly was for, but they all had to be there. So, the kids and teachers and some principals are there when the principal gets up and sets a chair in the middle of the stage, calling M up. She looks around wondering why, but walks up there when on the big screen pictures of her and T start playing, with music of course. Then T gets up with a microphone, telling her that he can't wait to spend the rest of his life with her and how he's known it was her since he met her, and gets on his knee and proposes!!! Of course, she says yes! So, the kids/faculty/staff/etc are all cheering and clapping and so excited, obviously!

How freakin cute is this?!?!? Me, loving to be the center of attention would absolutely love this kind of proposal! And T said he came up with the idea about 3 months ago and really wanted to include the kids because they mean so much to the both of them. He said the hardest part was keeping the secret for as long as he did. I am just so happy for them, but jealous too, because it reminds me that I have no one and am not even close to that part of my life. Obviously, I'm way more happy for them, but I thought this was a cute Friends quote to go with this story.

I just wanted to share this adorable story with you guys! It reminds me of something that would happen in a movie!

Oh, and I feel sooo much better today! Gotta love those heavy doses of amoxicillin!

One was this guy wanted to propose at the superbowl on the jumbo tv thingy but couldnt raise the money. then he bought a tv commercial space during her fave show and proposed live on tv. how cute is that. the other one i liked was the milkshake proposal. the ring was in the milkshake and the girl drank her ring. the ring was in her belly and they have the xrays showin it too..lol have a great weekend

  9. I don't know these people, so I can be 100% jealous. OK; that sounds mean. I'll be 20% happy for random strangers, but 80% jealous.

  10. It is a great story, but I just hope he was damn sure she was going to say yes! I saw an "Event Proposal" once where the guy waaayyyy misjudged what her reaction was going to be. It's one of the saddest things I've ever seen.

But this one sounds very sweet. Especially since the kids are already such a part of their lives.
