Wow, so this is my first time blogging...here it goes.
I figure I might do this little introduction thing to "break the ice" between me and this, and to get me writing :). Yes, I got it from Facebook.
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.
1. I absolutely hate nothing more in the world than feet, even my own. I mean, not that I have disgusting feet or anything, but all feet to me are absolutely repulsive. I have gotten one pedicure in my life and it was a gift and I can honestly say that I will never go back.
2. I have never met my biological father, he left before I was born. I have tried contacting him, but that's a story for a different time.
3. I have one sister who everyone (including me) thinks is absolutely gorgeous. When my mom introduces us, I am "the smart daughter," while K is the pretty one. I don't know if any other phrase will ever hurt me as repeatedly as this introduction does.
4. My sister was put into a psychiatric hospital today, and I blame no one except for our mother and her father.
5. I am a virgin. And will remain that way until my wedding night.
6. I want nothing more right now than for a guy to really love me.
7. I have never had a boyfriend. Sometimes, I lie to myself and blame it on #5, but I know the truth, that no guy has ever even gotten that close to me to find that out. So it's obviously my outward appearance, which kills me a little bit more everyday.
8. I am overly sensitive and get my feelings hurt way too easily. Everything you say to me is taken personally. In high school my friends nicknamed my Sensitive Sandy, yeah, that was really great for my emotional state.
9. Teaching is my passion. I will graduate soon and absolutely cannot wait until I am teaching full-time.
10. I am one of the biggest grammar freaks I have ever met, especially when it comes to spelling. If you spell a word incorrectly, I will call you out on it. If we don't learn from our mistakes, what's the point in making them?
11. Quotes are one of my obsessions. I have notebooks full of ones that I've come across and had to remember. The title of this post is one of my all time favorites.
12. I think Stephenie Meyer is a genius. The Twilight series is amazing and anyone who says differently can take it up with me.
13. I call myself Republican, but have very liberal views on some of the biggest issues.
14. My little brother, G, means the world to me and I would give anything for him to be happy.
15. I can go for hours scanning through Facebook Bumper Stickers. It's an addiction.
16. If I don't have to go anywhere or look presentable, I could go the entire weekend without showering.
17. I am 23 now, and still have nightmares about the abusive home I grew up in.
18. I despise the R word. Even if it's used in the correct sense, it makes me sick to my stomach. If you are close to someone with special needs, you can probably figure this one out.
19. I love sports, especially baseball. I could sit and watch sports all day, even just on TV, but there's nothing better than spending the day at Busch Stadium.
20. I have one of the worst gag reflexes of anyone I know. Sometimes even just talking about puke, or other bodily functions makes me want to grab the nearest trash can.
21. I'm very good at putting on a happy face when I need to, even if I just spent the last hour crying.
22. It's hard for you to gain my trust, and once you lose it, it's gone forever. I'll almost always forgive, but I never forget.
23. I watch way too much TV and movies, which is probably why I'm obsessed with anything Hollywood. I always have to know the latest dirt on all of the celebrities.
24. I desperately want to be famous. I know I'm on this side of things, but I would love nothing more than to have millions interested in me and what's going on in my life.
25. I have never been more scared or more excited than I am about my life right now. I don't know what's going to happen, I can only hope that I'll be able to make the best of it.
Well there it is. My very first blog posting. I must say I'm pretty excited about this, and I hope some of you will find me interesting enough to continue reading.
Look at you putting it all out there in your first post! Good for you. It's funny how we have the weird things in common. I hate the R word too. I have even stopped a lot of people from using it! And I used to keep notebooks full of quotes, too. I can't wait for your next post. Considering I created the most boring blog post ever posted today, I needed something to get me excited again! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya on the sensitive thing. It drives me crazy that I'm that way sometimes. There are days when I just want to shake myself and say, GET A GRIP,WOMAN!!!
ReplyDeleteI was with you on 5 (until I got married), and I am still with you on 12 and 18. I loved Twilight, and just started new moon. Also, my mother was a special ed teacher. Growing up the R word was not used- instead we were blessed to have a mother who knew how to act, what to say and what was different. I worked as a sub at her school the summer before I got married. While it was sometimes scary, working there may have shown me that I picked the wrong major in college. I am glad I found your blog. I look forward to hearing what you have to say.
ReplyDeletehey, your actually a very interesting person and I like you (in a good way). I can relate to the part of being the smart daughter and having a pretty sister, it sucks, but I kinda glad I am, I like being smart and I love being me.
ReplyDeleteI hope your dream of becoming famous come true. Include me to one of the millions who are and will be interested in you and what's going on in your life. :)
Hey, I just found your blog and I just started reading from the beginning and already the first post was like, You're a bit like me.
ReplyDeleteI'm into books and into movies. I too know the lastest gossip. If I'm watching movies with friends it's always Nic, where do we know this guy from? And then I can give them some movies that the guy was in and my friends saw (they have such a bad taste in movies).
Look forward to reading your other posts.
